Want to Quit Present Job With Poise?

Want to leave current job ?

It is not always that the job you are doing gives you pleasure or even the satisfaction you need. We may not be happy with our present job because of many reasons – Less salary or no good opportunities or maybe our Boss! We think a lot while leaving a job. If we plan to leave our job it is important for us to make things simpler and cause no problems for both you and the employer. We should not get stuck to one job just because people say or your mind thinks that the firm needs us. If we are able to get a more satisfying and well paying job elsewhere then we should definitely try and move ahead.
·   Work With Patience – Don’t ever just quit your present job in a hurry just because you are confident that you will get another job easily anywhere you want. People who quit their jobs in haste or in anger always regret and have to find an alternative way of earning.
· Having Financial Support is Important – Before quitting your present job we must make sure whether we have enough money in our financial cushion or not so as to survive until we get a job elsewhere. Hence it is necessary to make sure that we have reserves in the bank to keep us sustained.
· Finding A New Job Before Leaving – If we just leave the present job in a hurry and apply for a new job the next day, we will get that job. Right? No, of course not. It is life not a fairytale. So before leaving your job we should keep applying for different jobs and must keep giving interviews when called. These interviews can be done on weekends. The consequences of leaving the present job without any alternative are hard to face.
· Your Boss Deserves A Notice – A written notice handed to your boss is always appreciated which should be in accordance with your agreement at the joining time. This notice should be written by you mentioning to quit your present position. This is the most considerate and respectful way of leaving the present job.
·  Honesty Is The Best Policy – Every boss is happy to have honest and trustworthy employees. And considering you as one of those honest employees he may ask you the reason of why you want to leave the job and you should be answerable to him as well. Telling the truth may help you. For example, If you tell your boss that you are not satisfied with the salary being paid to you in accordance to your services then your boss may be convinced with your reason and makes a suggestion to increase your salary and stay in the job or maybe gives you a promotion. This would be a vanilla ice-cream with a cherry on top.
·  Professionalism – Professionalism can be shown anywhere. When you are giving your Resignation, you might find your colleagues not treating you in a good way and if that moment you have self control and don’t get angry - That is what actually Being Professional is all about.

So you must be fully prepared if you are thinking of leaving your present job.

Resumes That Can Be Rejected

Resume Mistakes

The main documents that the employers rely on while recruiting an employee are Resumes. The resumes that grab the attention of the recruiter in a single go are called the best ones. Writing proper resumes is not as easy as it seems to be. Every single thing has to be written carefully. Even a single, minor mistake can ruin all the hard work of the employee and spoil his or her career prospects. Recruiters hate to see some things in resumes and so the employee should be careful with these things in order to get a good job.

Any resume full of words is considered to be unsuitable by many recruiters. In fact so many words in the resume make it look clumsy and so full that the recruiters may find it difficult for finding relevant information which may irritate them. The recruiters are not so free that they can read an extensive resume. So it should be brief but as informative as possible. The number of words in the resume is directly proportional to the possibility of making an error. Hence, the lesser number of words are there, the lesser chances of error. Thus, it will be easy for the recruiters to read it and to make the decision easily.

The things that are worth mentioning only those should be mentioned in your resume as the information not needed by the recruiters is not appreciated by them. The achievements that indicate one’s skills and qualities should be mentioned. But if the resume looks thinner then one should focus on increasing skills, activities and internships. The typos error is the worse mistake which is done in the resumes. Typing misplaced words can limit the ability of the resumes to create the necessary impact on the recruiter. Any error in the resume is seen as the job seeker’s inability to do quality work with concentration.

SO WRITE YOUR RESUME LIKE A PROFESSIONAL

Common Reasons for not having a Job

Reason for no job

The analysis of not having a job is the most important thing one should do before going for any job interview. This helps him/her to set the basic goals/needs from the dream job he/she wants to have.

According to statistics, the following are the major reason for a youth of not having job:

· Lack of Self Confidence - Now-a-days most people are seen focused to get a job only to earn livelihood, to feed self/family. This makes them to stress more on external situations rather than focusing on their talent/skills/experience with which they should search a job. These lacks of focus on their own skills make them look less confident in the interviews. Interview is the only place where we need to explore ourselves to new challenges based on our previous experience/skills that we have. One should not forget that, if he/she needs a job of his/her type then person should be well prepared to show his/her skills on that, otherwise the result would never be in his/her favour.

· Inadequacy of information/knowledge in the required field - For example, if I am going to attend an IT interview, I should have the knowledge about what the company is exactly looking for. If the requirement does n’t suits my profile better, then it would be a foolishness to attend the interview. Similarly, if a marketing manager does n’t have the skills to speak up, then companies would never trust him/her to make ad for their product. So before attending any such interviews, one should make himself ready for the same, and to answer challenging questions of that field.

· Not having specific short term/Long term goals – This process is frequently followed by IT companies to reach their aim following some specific goals build by the employees themselves. Now-a-days Indian youth has also started following this, to not to forget their aim and specific goals which would take them closer to their aims.

· Missing Optimistic thoughts - Failure is the key to Success. This is no more just a quotation to us in today’s world. Today almost all of us has seen failure in our lives, and later success after trying harder. Job Seekers, who has failed in any of the interviews, loses confidence gradually, but after every failure they gains experience on the interviews could be, which can make them prepare more better next time. This optimistic thought is much more  needed to get a dream success in life.

· Unhealthy look - Companies, specially IT world needs usually prefers smart and confident looking employees for good positions. Hence taking care of health and good look is also very essential feature for getting a good position job.

To get your dream job, you really need to think of first that why you do not have a job. If you really need it you should be career focused, and show off your skills as per job requirements.

Interview is the word that makes people nervous and tensed. This nervous behavior in a candidate is normal and such behavior can be overcome with regular practice, continuous learning and through Internship. Current trend of interview for employment is through Phone and Skype. Phone interviews are same as that of in-person interviews. Phone interviews are used as a tool by recruiters or organization for screening candidates. Unlike face to face interview, phone interview saves lots of time, money and energy of an organization. If you do well in phone interview, hiring manager will surely decide you are worth that extra effort for a face to face meeting. Your goal is to turn this screening phone interview into face to face interview. Preparation is always the key to get success in any kind of interview whether its phone interview or face to face interview. It’s mandatory to give time and energy to review the common phone interview questions you will be asked.

Before explaining top 5 phone interview questions have a look on few important tips on answering these interview questions.

  • Try finding a quiet place to give your phone interview, There should not be any noise around.
  • Think thoroughly about your answers before giving it.
  • Answer should be Honest, Concise, Intelligent and related to context of the question.
  • Your answers should be around 2 to 3 minutes long and should not exceed this limit of time.

Top 5 phone interview questions most likely to be asked by the interviewer are,

  1. “Tell me something about you“?

This is normally the first question asked by interviewer. By asking this question interviewer is not interested in your life story, they want to know about your work history, your skills and your professional profile. Showcase yourself in such a way that the interviewer will imagine you doing the same work for him. Try relating your answers with your past accomplishments in job or studies.

  2. “What’s your strength”?

By this question interviewer is interested in knowing your technical skills, problem solving skills and your other skills like your aptitude and communication required to do the job well.
  • You have that particular technical skills required to-do the job.
  • You have that problem solving aptitude or not.
  • Interviewer is interested in finding out that you are capable to do the job or not.

  3. “What’s your weakness”?

This question is pretty tricky and you should answer this question very smartly.  Your answer should be in such a way that it should not show you weaker as compare to other candidates, rather you can say something like you are not able to find the time to upgrade yourself with the coming new technologies. And you should end up your answer with an example of how you’re combating with this weakness.

  4.  “What experience do you have”?

I have explained this earlier that before appearing for an interview we should research about company and the job profile. If you are aware of the job description and responsibilities you can relate your answers with the job requirements. You can relate your past experience, achievements, technical skills you possess which makes you enable to the job well. Try to show your problem solving attitude with suitable example.

5. “What’s your salary expectation”?

If it’s a first round of interview, it’s better to mold this question in a way that you are not much aware of the company standards and your job role and responsibilities. If you are getting pushed to tell a salary range you can say something like I have no real idea of company benefits that could come from joining the company, however I am probably looking for the salary range between £ x - £ y.

These are the basic phone interview questions you may be asked by the interviewer. For more questions please have a look on my post List of Tricky Job Interview Questions. If you have any question related to interview questions please comment below.

Internship and its types
An internship is a specialized on-the-job training for professional careers. Like apprenticeship is for vocational and trade jobs similarly internship is for professional and white–collar careers. Usually internship is temporary and is of short-term, it may be part-time or may be full time. The key focus of this on-the-job training is to apply theoretical knowledge in the real world. Commonly, an internship consists of exchange of services between organization and intern, for the experience. Interns are usually university or college students, they can also be school students and post graduates. Internship usually involves a supervisor to give training and to supervise. If you wish to have a taste in the professional life, you may enroll for the internship training. Internship may be non-profitable or paid, and are available in wide variety of fields of job market like sales, manufacturing, engineering, medicine, law, technology etc. Many organizations offer various monetary rewards like stipend, bonus or salary.  Some organizations offer permanent employment to the interns in the same organization, this benefit both the organization and student, student gets the job and organization gets the already trained candidate for the job.  Although, getting the employment after the completion of internship is not guaranteed.

Sometimes student can also choose the topic related to the organization. In the end, intern will have to present the result of the research internship to the management of the same organization.

2)Work Experience – In this internship, intern is expected to apply all the knowledge he or she has learned in the school or college. Interns will be converting their theoretical knowledge into practical work and while doing so they are gaining work experience. This work experience helps them in their further studies.
